Keen to try something a bit different? Wondering how you'll make it through the dark winter days? Come and try a range of simple but effective creative exercises to warm your heart, mind and soul. This course will cater for all ages and abilities. The sessions will include time for yourself and also exercises to connect with others.

Defensive Driving 1 (May)

4 sessions - 13th, 15th, 20th and 21st May - Starts on 13 May 2024 from 4 - 6pm

Improve your driving skills, steer clear of danger and/or reduce your time on a restricted licence. This covers the theory and practical parts of the course. It is essential that participants attend all 4 theory sessions and the practical driving assessment, which will be arranged with the instructor during the theory sessions. This course will run on 13th, 15th, 20th, 21st May

Digital Photography: Beginner

6 Wednesday nights & 1 weekend field trip - Starts on 8 May from 7-9pm

Learn how to get the best out of your camera by learning basic camera operating techniques, lens', exposure, lighting, depth of field and how to make rather than take photographs. Also includes basic computer improvements to photos.

FACE PAINTING:

Learn how to face paint using the materials provided in the course. You will learn skills so that you can paint children for parties or your own kids or grandkids. You will learn how to load paint, blending with sponges, brush stroke techniques, and three designs a tiger, a spiderman/superhero design and a rainbow flowers design

Guitar: Beginner & Intermediate

8 Wednesday nights - Starts on 8 May 2024 from 7-9pm

This course will show beginners how to form basic chords and use them to accompany a range of songs. Students will learn several different strums and a simple but effective finger picking technique. Bring your own guitar. Intermediate students will work on the same material, but learning and using more advanced playing methods. You will have at least one hour tutor contact time with beginners and intermediate split into different sessions on the first night.

LANDLORDS MASTERCLASS (Wednesdays)

If you are a landlord, you’ve faced a lot of changes. This class will help you sharpen up your performance as a landlord so you are getting the best from your property investment AND being a great landlord to your tenants. Jackie Thomas-Teague is an experienced landlord, property manager, teacher, and recognised in the Rent Skills Highly Commended category 2023 (formerly ‘Landlord of the Year’) and will help you deal with tricky areas, things you don’t enjoy, or are not confident about, as well as making sure you are meeting all your obligations. This is a safe environment to talk about all things landlord-related, so no matter your experience and skill level, you are bound to get something valuable out of it, and have fun doing it. Jackie welcomes questions before class so she can tailor the content to match your specific needs’.

SAVING FAMILY MEMORIES:

3 Wednesday nights - Starts on 29 May from 7-9pm

EVERYONE has a story worth sharing. This class will inspire you to start saving family stories and memories for future generations. Most family history is recorded in documents and photographs, but there are many stories and memories that are not recorded and will be lost or forgotten if they are not saved. You will use old photographs as prompts, and create a timeline of key life events that you wish to document. The main focus is on using video & audio to record stories and memories, but the same principles can be applied to writing a personal memoir.

TAI CHI KUNG FU FAN 1

8 Wednesday evenings - Starts on 8 May from 6.30 - 7.30pm

This Fan form is very popular in Asean countries early morning exercise in the park. It is a gift from Chinese culture and a jewel to last for a very long time. This is an active form. Just right for active people. You learn to use the Fan and your body together. You learn as a group and learn to move together. It is visually quite a party activity. Learning is a challenge initially, but going past the challenge it is exhilarating and very enjoyable. It is healthy for those who need to move their legs, arms and body more. It helps you keeping your mind present in each moment in the fan form. Helps you have a moment to yourself and find peace. Come and learn. These Lessons will be at the group's pace. Everyone will be provided with a Fan to borrow or buy.
