The course is hands-on, so you'll have time to find your own family using some of these resources: Births, Marriages, and Deaths entries; Electoral Rolls; Probate and Wills; Newspapers; Police Records; Shipping information; Census data; Parish registers; land records; convict records; maps; and whatever else is appropriate to the search. You'll learn how to record your findings using hand-written pages or computer programs to save it.

Raranga: Creating Taonga with Harakeke (Intermediate)

This class is for those who are experienced at weaving with Harakeke and/or other materials. You must understand the tikanga, reo and how to prepare Harakeke for weaving. Minimum of experience – putiputi, kono and konae. This class is a pathway for those that wish to move on from the beginners class. You will learn how to weave whiri kete and are welcome to inquire about weaving other items. Come along and become one of our Tuakana weavers and 'get your weave on'.
