Getting Started with Your Learning Journey

At Tawa Community Education, we make it easy for you to find the right course and understand what’s required before enrolling. Whether you’re exploring a new skill, continuing your education, or considering tutoring, this page guides you through eligibility, enrolment requirements, and helpful tips to ensure a seamless start.

Enrolment Eligibility

Some of our classes receive funding from the TEC and are available for New Zealand residents only at the standard fee.

  • TEC-funded classes include: NZ Sign Language, Māori, Gagana Samoan, and Sewing for Beginners.
  • Non-residents may enrol for an additional fee.

Students under 15 years old can attend some courses as long as a fee-paying adult attends the same course. Please contact the coordinator to confirm eligibility.

Materials & Additional Fees

Some courses require extra materials or items you will need to bring. Details are provided in the course description or upon enrolment.

Accessibility Support

If you need assistance with mobility, communication, or other accessibility needs, contact the coordinator before enrolling to ensure the course is suitable.

Sickness

Please do not attend if you are unwell. Missing a session due to illness does not entitle you to a refund or transfer.
