We will be working with tools and hot metal so please wear shoes that cover your feet. No sandals, jandals, slides, mary-janes or open-toes. This is for your safety in the workshop.

Students must have completed the Beginner’s Metal Jewellery workshop

Learning Outcomes – Set In Stone

1. Make a ring with a bezel set stone

2. Apply basic jewellery making techniques such as sawing, filing, sanding, soldering, polishing and                finishing, reiterating techniques learnt in earlier class, with appropriate support from the tutor.

3.Learn how to make a bezel setting – measuring, forming, soldering, shaping, filing, sanding and                  finishing.

4. Learn techniques for attaching a bezel setting to a ring and finishing the setting with a stone.                 5. Recognise tools and their uses; be able to apply this knowledge in making jeweller.

6. Demonstrate an awareness of safety issues in the workshop
