Joyce Tam

I am a university-trained tutor with over 30 years of sewing teaching experience (23 years at a tertiary level). I have an extensive understanding of sewing equipment (both domestic and industrial), sewing & garment manufacturing processes and methods, patternmaking and the fit of garments.

I can teach across a range of equipment (sewing machine, overlocker, twin needle/cover stitcher). I also have a good understanding of fabrication for garment making. A recent skill development has been to use the domestic sewing machine to mend laddering and holes in knit garments. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with you in an upcoming course.
