Tutor/Facilitator: Elizabeth Allen 4 Thursday nights - Starts on 8 May from 7-9pm
Want to knit but think it’s too difficult? It’s not….did you know that all knitted pieces are a combination of just two stitches? In this class, you’ll master the basic knitting techniques - casting on and off, and knit and purl stitches . We’ll also take a look at interpreting knitting patterns, which is often the part of this craft that knitters find most difficult."
Fees: NZ$75
Needs List
On first night please bring
> a pair of 4.00mm (also known as size 8) knitting needles, and
> a ball of 8 ply (also known as double knitting) yarn, preferably lighter coloured.
Op shops are a good source of cheap knitting needles, and sometimes yarn. Spotlight is also good for reasonably priced yarn. They will probably find it easier starting by using yarn with a soft "feel" to it, so maybe go for acrylic rather than wool.
All prices are in New Zealand dollars.
