FLOWER ARRANGING - FUN WITH FLOWERS

Ever wish you could just whip up a bunch of flowers for friends or put some flowers in a vase at home like an expert? This course will show you how - I'll even show you how to create some other simple but effective designs for your home including a table centre. Students will be advised suggestions of flowers and greenery to bring each night.

LANDLORDS MASTERCLASS

2 Sundays - 16th & 23rd November from 10am - 3pm

If you are a landlord, you’ve faced a lot of changes. This class will help you sharpen up your performance as a landlord so you are getting the best from your property investment AND being a great landlord to your tenants. Jackie Thomas-Teague is an experienced landlord, property manager, teacher, and recognised in the Rent Skills Highly Commended category 2023 (formerly ‘Landlord of the Year’) and will help you deal with tricky areas, things you don’t enjoy, or are not confident about, as well as making sure you are meeting all your obligations. This is a safe environment to talk about all things landlord-related, so no matter your experience and skill level, you are bound to get something valuable out of it, and have fun doing it. Jackie welcomes questions before class so she can tailor the content to match your specific needs’.

OVERLOCKER BASICS/SEWING WITH KNITS

1 Saturday - On Saturday 7 March from 9am-3:30pm

An introduction to the overlocker, develop skills to use this equipment safely and efficiently. Learn how to use the overlocker for seaming knit garments. Prior Sewing experience essential. Some overlockers are available to use during the course or bring your own. Please let us know if you need to borrow one so that it can be booked in advance.

Sewing: Intermediate

Tutor/Facilitator: Joyce Tam
8 Monday nights - Starts on 9 February from 6:30-8:30pm

This class caters for the sewer who has had some sewing experience and/or wishes to work on their own sewing/pattern project(s) with guidance. The tutor can advise on fabrication, best sewing techniques, alterations and provide many sewing tips. The school will provide scissors, sewing machines and overlockers but all students need to bring their own fabrics, trims, pattern, and sewing kit (a list will be sent out by the tutor after enrollment).

WOODWORK: Skills & Projects (Tuesday)

8 Tuesday nights - Starts on 10 February from 7-9pm

Learn wood working skills using hand tools and the type of power tools found in the home. Choose your own project at your level of ability and learn skills while completing the project. You provide your own materials. No recycled timber allowed. This course will be held at the Tawa Menz Shed Davies St, Tawa.
