CROCHET FOR CHRISTMAS

1 Saturday - 16 November from 10am - 4pm

Get ready for the holiday season and learn how to crochet a range of little projects. From stars and icicles to Christmas trees, and miniature Christmas jumpers and a little Santa hat! You will also learn how to crochet and decorate Christmas baubles! While you might not finish all the patterns this day, the aim is to have a go at making as many as possible! You will need to know some basic crochet stitches such as single and double crochet. You’ll also need to have some understanding of how to read a pattern and work with diagrams, as taught in the beginners’ crochet course. Please bring yarn that you enjoy working with (cotton, acrylic or wool, 4ply or 8 ply) in a variety of colours and a matching crochet hook.

Flower Arranging - FABULOUS FESTIVE FLOWERS

6 Tuesday nights - Starting on October 15th from 7 - 9pm

Learn how to create fabulous table centres, wreaths, topiary tree and garland, all ready for the festive season. Each week you will need to bring along your own flowers/foliage/Christmas baubles etc. There will be extra costs for wreath base, topiary base, etc. See the attached pdf for what to bring on the first night.

LANDLORDS MASTERCLASS (Sundays)

2 Sundays - 10th and 17th November, 10am - 3pm

If you are a landlord, you’ve faced a lot of changes. This class will help you sharpen up your performance as a landlord so you are getting the best from your property investment AND being a great landlord to your tenants. Jackie Thomas-Teague is an experienced landlord, property manager, teacher, and recognised in the Rent Skills Highly Commended category 2023 (formerly ‘Landlord of the Year’) and will help you deal with tricky areas, things you don’t enjoy, or are not confident about, as well as making sure you are meeting all your obligations. This is a safe environment to talk about all things landlord-related, so no matter your experience and skill level, you are bound to get something valuable out of it, and have fun doing it. Jackie welcomes questions before class so she can tailor the content to match your specific needs’.

OVERLOCKER BASICS/SEWING WITH KNITS

1 Saturday - On Saturday 16 November from 9am-3:30pm

An introduction to the overlocker, develop skills to use this equipment safely and efficiently. Learn how to use the overlocker for seaming knit garments. Prior Sewing experience essential. Some overlockers are available to use during the course or bring your own. Please let us know if you need to borrow one so that it can be booked in advance.

Sewing for Beginners

8 Thursday nights - Starts on 17 October from 6.30 - 8.30pm

THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL. This class is for people who are wanting to gain confidence with a sewing machine. And those just starting can work through a project making a shopping bag to introduce them to the sewing machine and sewing techniques.A condition of enrolment on this course is that you will attend at least 80% of the sessions. The first time you enrol, you'll need to provide your National Student Number (NSN) or, if you don't have one, email a copy of your passport or birth certificate as proof of your NZ citizenship or residency to [email protected]

THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL. Learn how to revitalise your furniture using equipment you already have at home. Sewing skills are essential. Please note the size of your project will determine how much homework you need to do it get it completed, but come and learn what you need to do to refresh your furniture.
