This class is for people who are wanting to gain confidence with a sewing machine. And those just starting can work through a project making a shopping bag to introduce them to the sewing machine and sewing techniques.A condition of enrolment on this course is that you will attend at least 80% of the sessions. The first time you enrol, you'll need to provide your National Student Number (NSN) or, if you don't have one, email a copy of your passport or birth certificate as proof of your NZ citizenship or residency to [email protected]
Fees: NZ$75
Start with a bag and then you will be helped in buying a pattern and fabric to make your first garment. This class is suitable for ESOL learners and the absolute beginner. Further progress will be made by attending the dressmaking course.
You have the option of using a college Bernina Sewing machine or bring your own machine and learn how to use it.
All prices are in New Zealand dollars.

Refund requests must be made in writing to the Co-ordinator. Prior to the course commencing, a 20% administration cost will be removed from the refund. No refund will be available 24 hours prior to the course starting or once the course has started. A full refund is available should the Coordinator cancel the course.
