Defensive Driving March

4 sessions - 10th, 12th, 13th & 19th June - Starts on 10 June from 6 - 8pm

Improve your driving skills, steer clear of danger and/or reduce your time on a restricted licence. This covers the theory and practical parts of the course. It is essential that participants attend all 4 theory sessions and the practical driving assessment, which will be arranged with the instructor during the theory sessions.

KNITTING: All comers / Own Project

This course now includes all levels of knitting. So you can knit and purl but want to be able to add more interest to your knitting? This course will allow you to work on your own project with guidance from our tutor. This course follows on from the beginners course and assumes that you can cast on, knit, purl and cast off.

KNITTING: Beginners

Want to knit but think it’s too difficult? It’s not….did you know that all knitted pieces are a combination of just two stitches? In this class, you’ll master the basic knitting techniques - casting on and off, and knit and purl stitches . We’ll also take a look at interpreting knitting patterns, which is often the part of this craft that knitters find most difficult."

Sewing for Beginners

This class is for people who are wanting to gain confidence with a sewing machine. And those just starting can work through a project making a shopping bag to introduce them to the sewing machine and sewing techniques.A condition of enrolment on this course is that you will attend at least 80% of the sessions. The first time you enrol, you'll need to provide your National Student Number (NSN) or, if you don't have one, email a copy of your passport or birth certificate as proof of your NZ citizenship or residency to [email protected]

VIETNAMESE COOKING

These dishes can be enjoyed for any meal and will be taught by a Vietnamese chef with a passion for authentic cooking. The menu will include dishes such as savoury pancakes, wraps, rolls noodle soups and rice noodle salads. (This course is not suitable for vegetarians)

VIETNAMESE COOKING - More Tastes

This course will include different recipes to the Vietnamese Cooking course. Dishes will depend on seasonal availability of ingredients but likely to be lemongrass chicken rice, salad, beef PHO, new wraps and rolls.

WOODWORK:Skills & Projects (Thursday)

8 Thursday nights - Starts on 8 May from 7-9pm

Learn wood working skills using hand tools and the type of power tools found in the home. Choose your own project at your level of ability and learn skills while completing the project. You provide your own materials. No recycled timber allowed. This class will be held at the Tawa Menz Shed in Davies St Tawa.
