This will cover: • Sewing room safety • Introduction to the sewing machine • Basic sewing skills: How to cut out fabric, how to sew a straight and a curved line, how to pin fabric, how to safely use an iron, how to follow sewing instructions. • Benefit of constructing a toile What to bring: • Pen & Paper (to take notes) • Sewing Kit o Tape Measure o Pins o Paper Scissors o Fabric Scissors o Tailors’ Chalk/Markers (erasable) o Snips (to trims threads while sewing) o Quick unpick o Hand sewing needle/s o Scrap fabric o Thread • Project pattern, fabric, thread & notions • Optional: (sewing machines are available in class) o Sewing Machine ▪ Sewing Machine ▪ Accessories (eg. feet, screw driver, bobbins, spare needles) ▪ Manual
Note: If you are using the school machine, please bring $1 for a bobbin, or purchase a Bernina bobbin for use in class.

Refund policy
Refund requests must be made in writing to the Co-ordinator. Prior to the course commencing, a 20% administration cost will be removed from the refund. No refund will be available 24 hours prior to the course starting or once the course has started. A full refund is available should the Coordinator cancel the course.
