POTTERY: Wheel work for beginners (February)
8 Monday nights - Must attend 31 March - 3 February - 31 March 2025 from 7- 9:30pm **THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL** This class is an introduction to throwing clay on a pottery wheel. Students learn to centre clay on the wheel and the basics of throwing the foundation shapes of cylinders and bowls. Please note that glazing will be done on the final week,31 March, so it is essential that students can attend on that evening as there are no alternative opportunities to glaze work. The costs for clay, firing and glazing materials are extra and will vary depending on how much a student makes. Please bring $60 materials deposit payable in cash to the tutor on the first night. Some students may not use all of this deposit however productive students may be required to pay more. POTTERY: Wheel Work Intermediate (July)
8 Monday nights - must attend 1 September - 14 July - 1 September 2024 from 7-9:30pm **THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL** Must have done a previous intermediate course or 2 beginner classes or have equivalent throwing experience. The aim of the course is to extend students who can already centre and throw a basic cylinder, and will provide tuition to begin making pieces that are larger and with more complex shapes, such as vases, jugs, pots with lids and types of serving dishes. Please note that glazing will be done on the final week, so it is essential that students can attend on that evening as there are no alternative opportunities to glaze work. The costs for clay, firing and glazing materials are extra and will vary depending on how much a student makes. Please bring $60 materials deposit payable in cash to the tutor on the first night.
