Raewyn Dawe

Upholstery
6 Saturday mornings - Starts 22 February from 9.30am - 12.30pm

Refresh your existing furniture or lovingly restore that op shop find. Start with something simple like reupholstering a footstool, dining room chair or be prepared to do homework and/or a couple of terms and tackle a lounge chair. Modern, retro, vintage all can be refreshed. There are additional material costs. These will vary depending on the size of your project and the condition of your piece of furniture. In older chairs the foam may have decayed and will need to be replaced. You will need fabric and other materials depending on your project. What you will need to purchase will be determined as you discover what is underneath the fabric and what you can reuse. Sewing skills are essential. Also NO leather fabrics, Vinyl maybe Ok but only after discussion with the tutor. For the first session please bring your project, a large rubbish bag and a permanent marker. You don’t need to start anything before the first class but may need to do homework.
