Come and learn to make some delicious baked treats! Cupcakes, cakes, slices, scones, bread… it’s up to you! Come along with some ideas on what you’d like to learn and we can decide together what we will bake the following weeks! Gluten free options not available in this course.

CHEESE MAKING: Halloumi & Ricotta

1 Sunday morning - On 1 March from 9am-12pm

You make the cheese at this intensely practical DIY 'hands-in' workshop because the key to good cheese making is knowing how the cheese should look and, most importantly, how it should feel at different points in it's creation. During this three hour hands-on workshop, you will be guided through the cheese making process while you make your own Halloumi and Ricotta which you will be able to take home and show off at the end!

FIT, FUELED & CONFIDENT - Nutrition Fundamentals for Adults

3 Tuesday nights - Starting on 10 February from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

This course will empower adults to understand the principles behind good nutrition so that they become healthy and confident in their bodies. We will discuss how food impacts health, bust toxic myths, and apply behaviour change science to make sure healthy habits actually stick. This course is not personalised and we will not provide medical advice.

GROWING HEALTHY EATERS - Nutritonal Fundamentals for Parents

This course will empower parents to ensure that their children are getting the nutrition they need to grow optimally. We will cover manage picky eating, reduce mealtime stress, and support children to build healthy habits. This course is not personalised and we will not provide medical advice.

INDIAN COOKING- Breads and Masalas

1 Saturday - On 28 March from 9:30am - 3:30pm

Take a day and create a range of delicious and different Indian masalas, using both Manjula’s tried-and-true recipes but also some of the new spice mixes now available in Indian shops. You’ll also learn how to make a variety of breads (naan, roti and parathas) to serve with the curries. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to: • Create several different masalas (curries) • Make tasty Indian bread accompaniments • Adapt ready-made spice mixes to enhance the flavours • Use a range a different Indian spices with more confidence

ITALIAN COOKING: 1

Learn to prepare a range of delicious Italian dishes, make your own pasta and sauces and an Italian dessert. Please bring a pasta machine if you have one, some will be provided. If you have dietary requirements please contact us to confirm that we can accommodate your needs, before you enrol.

This class is for students who have already taken the Italian course at Tawa College in the past. Expand your pasta making to coloured pastas and new sauces, learn some more desserts and catch up with old classmates! Please bring a pasta machine if you have one, some will be provided.

VIETNAMESE COOKING

Tutor/Facilitator: Ha Nguyen
4 Thursday nights - Starts on 12 March from 6-8pm

These dishes can be enjoyed for any meal and will be taught by a Vietnamese chef with a passion for authentic cooking. The menu will include dishes such as savoury pancakes, wraps, rolls noodle soups and rice noodle salads. (This course is not suitable for vegetarians)
